Ford Park, Ulverston. Park and café
From the website:
The postcode is LA12 7JP but if you follow your sat nav you will end up in the wrong place. This will only be about 30yds from the entrance but a dead end, so once you get within spitting distance, use your eyes.
Turn off the A590 into Hart st, you'll see the Swan Inn and the Swan chinese take away on your left. Go about 500yds and turn right into Ford Park Cresent, not into Poplar grove which has a large sign for Ford Park at this junction.
Look for signs to St Mary's Hospice and Hoad Hill.
Upon entering Ford Park Cres. you can see the entrance to the park dead ahead. Drive through the entrance and to the top of the field, and find a car park opposite the natural play area.
Bring along a picnic.
Option to go and visit the butterfly house as well as the mini beasts displays (there are meerkats!).
Arrive early to avoid parking issues, though there are side roads you can also park on outside of the designated car parks.
There are two pay and display car parks in Williamson Park - at the Quernmore Road entrance (15 spaces) and at the Wyresdale Road entrance (100 spaces).
No usual Playgroup session. However, back by popular demand is our ‘Pancake Party’, celebrating a favourite tradition! The morning of Tuesday 21st February will be filled with the usual playgroup fun & games, bouncy-castle and baking. We will finish off with a lunch for all (children & parents). Additional fees apply (please see poster or ask Maria for details).
We are holding a meeting at Maria's house this coming Friday night.
It would be great if we could get as many people as possible to come along to offer any advice or suggestions for the running of our playgroup.
Also we are looking for anyone who is interested in a small role helping to organise upcoming events.
Now with Maria's newly appointed job at school, and with Cath stepping down, we need extra help to keep our playgroup running as successfully as it has been.
A special guest will be coming to visit us at Playgroup again this year! If you are attending bring along a present, no more than £5 worth with your child’s name on.
Following this there will be a Jacobs join lunch for all, please bring a sweet & savory contribution towards lunch.
This takes place in the village hall on Saturday the 3rd of December with children performing Christmas carols around 11am.
There will be a fancy dress competition as in previous years, with prizes for the various ages groups.
Come and visit Santa in his grotto!
